Submission guidelines
We are always on the look out for formally literate, memorable and passionate
poetry, with combined intellectual and emotional charge. The magazine
also has an interest in translations of European poetry. We consider the
following poems to be some of the most interesting published in 2006,
so if you agree, then perhaps your work is for us:
Stephen Watts: Brick Lane Mela (Poetry Salzburg Review)
Geoffrey Hill: On the Reality of the Symbol (Without Title: Penguin)
Tim Cunningham, Child Alarm (Unequal Thirds: Peterloo Poets)
John Haynes: (Letter to Patience: Seren)
Matt Williams: Courage equals fever
Please note:
No more than six poems at a time.
If you send translations, please include original as well (with full scholarly
reference).
Translations can only be accepted of Latin, Ancient Greek, French, Italian,
Swedish and German works.
No concrete poetry.
Nothing set in hospitals.
Original is quite different from ‘experimental’.
Email submissions only.
The poems must not be published elsewhere.
The editor’s decision is probably wrong, but certainly final. The
following will cause your work to be rejected without being read:
Sending more than six poems,
Long biographies of the poet,
Rants Remember the watchwords: form, control, power, memorable speech,
honesty, love.

Payment is one free copy of the magazine; bribes are welcome but futile.
